About The Teacher
I come from a musical family and
have enjoyed music and singing all my life. I took 3 years of traditional piano lessons in my childhood between ages 7 and
15.
I lost my vision at age 20 due to diabetes after my only year of college.
I remember comforting myself by attempting to pick out pieces on the piano. Because my piano instruction had been reading-based,
playing without sight was very limiting for me at the time.
Simply Music has opened the world of music to me. Learning the piano has
dramatically expanded my horizons. Sharing the gift of musical self expression by teaching others is even more satisfying.
Simply Music truly does redefine who can learn to play the piano and who
can teach piano. I currently hold the distinction of being the world`s first and only blind Simply Music teacher and I look
forward to more blind teachers joining the ranks.
